Google Drive & G Suite

Screen Shot 2017-04-01 at 9.56.30 AMG Suite (formerly Google Apps for Work) is Google’s brand of cloud based digital tools for collaboration, communication and personal productivity. To access to Google’s G Suite, consider setting up a Gmail account and using Google Chrome as your internet browser.  

The Google Help Centre provides a detailed and extensive instructions for using GSuite Apps.

Getting Started

To start, we recommend downloading Google’s Chrome Browser and setting up a Google account.  When you set up your account, you have the option of setting up your username with a Gmail account or your existing email account.  Login in through you Google account or Gmail to access your Google Drive – which is the digital online space for storing your information and accessing Google apps.  These three tools provide a seamless way to access and integrate G Suite apps for digital communication and collaboration.

 

Many boards have invested in Google Apps for Education where you can access some of the various apps below without having a Gmail account.

Goolge Forms
A web-based document that enables participants to create online surveys that can be converted to a google sheet for data gathering and analysis. You can work alone on your Google Form or work with others in real time.

Hangout

Google Hangouts
A web-based communications tool to initiate and participate in text, voice or video chats, either one-on-one or in a group (up to 10 people  can connect in a virtual space). Hangouts are built into Google+ and Gmail, and mobile Hangouts apps are available for iOS and Android devices (visit the apple and google stores to download free apps)
